"dvMatte Pro" effect not rendering properly (or at all) in Final Cut Pro?
Well, a very specific tip today, but one that took forever for me to figure out. The "dvMatte Pro" effect in FCP worked for most people, but then I also received tons of emails about it not working as well. The answer is simple, if FCP doesn't want to render that effect or simply if the render is not clean, you have to change the Sequence Settings. Hit "Command - 0" in FCP to bring up the Sequence Settings, click on the "Video Processing" tab and change the default "Render 10-bit material in high-precision YUV" to "Render in 8-bit YUV". This simple change should eliminate all problems with dvMatte Pro.
